Write in the format: question implied by the heading, direct answer in the first sentence, supporting detail in two to three sentences. That structure maps cleanly onto how AI systems pull cited passages. 

2. Implement FAQPage Schema on Every Key Page 

FAQPage JSON-LD is one of the clearest signals you can send to an AI crawler. It converts your Q&A pairs into machine-readable structured data that LLMs can parse without inference. 

Write your FAQ questions the way your audience types them into ChatGPT - full sentences, natural language, question marks included. Generic headings like 'FAQ' without proper schema get ignored. 

3. Target Conversational and Question-Based Queries 

AI search is dominated by long-tail, natural-language queries. Framing your content around how people ask questions conversationally - rather than around compressed keyword phrases - dramatically increases your surface area for citations. 

'What is the best AEO strategy for a B2B SaaS company' is a far better content target in 2026 than 'AEO strategies B2B'. The former is how users talk to AI. The latter is how they used to type into Google. 

4. Build Topical Clusters, Not Isolated Posts 

A single page on AEO signals limited authority. A cluster of eight to ten interconnected posts - covering AEO tools, FAQPage schema, voice search, entity optimization, and case studies - signals topical depth. 

AI engines assess corpus-level signals, not just individual URLs. The brand with the most coherent, interlinked body of work on a topic is the one that earns citations consistently. 

5. Earn Structured Citations in Industry Publications
